Are You Called to Be a Licensed Chaplain?

A Licensed Chaplain is often a volunteer or part-time minister who brings the presence of Christ into the most important moments of people’s lives through spiritual care, pastoral presence, prayer, encouragement, listening, and officiating life ceremonies.

Licensed Chaplains serve through weddings, funerals, dedications, blessings, memorials, and milestone events. They may serve in churches, community settings, public venues, correctional ministry contexts, care environments, and specialized chaplain roles such as first-responder, sports, and outreach settings, as permitted.

A Foundational Gateway to Many Chaplain Specializations

The Licensed Chaplain Program is designed as a strong starting point and foundational gateway into a wide variety of chaplain ministry pathways.

This program can open doors to specializations such as Police Chaplain, Fire/EMS Chaplain, Sports Chaplain, Corrections Chaplain, Hospice Chaplain, Truck Stop / Trucker Chaplain, Hospital Chaplain, Nursing Home and Assisted Living Chaplain, Veterans Chaplain, and more.

The program helps you build core chaplain presence, officiating competence, pastoral confidence, and credible clergy recognition so that you can serve meaningfully now and grow into additional chaplain callings over time.

College Credit Value: Your Chaplain Foundations course is a college-level 1-unit course and may count as an elective within the Christian Leaders Institute degree pathway, depending on your program plan.
