2 Modules Self-Paced Family Wisdom Christian Later-Life Preparation

Aging with Honor: A Christian Guide for Parents and Adult Children is a 2-module Christian Leaders Institute course designed to help families prepare wisely and early for the later-life journey.

This course equips aging parents, adult children, and the family relationship between them to address aging-related issues before crisis forces rushed decisions.

This course also serves ministers, chaplains, Christian life coaches, and pastoral caregivers who want both personal family wisdom and better ministry insight for guiding others through these important seasons.

This course takes a shared-journey approach. It speaks respectfully to aging parents as adults with dignity, to adult children as stewards rather than controllers, and to the relationship between generations as something that should be strengthened with truth, honor, and peace.

The goal is not to create fear, guilt, or pressure, but to help families begin honest conversations early so they can prepare with Christian hope, practical wisdom, and healthy boundaries.

    Course Emphasis

Throughout the course, students will think through later-life matters spiritually, relationally, emotionally, ethically, and practically, while repeatedly emphasizing dignity, consent, transparency, anti-abuse safeguards, and wise referral to qualified professionals when needed.

This is not a legal, financial, medical, or clinical training course. Rather, it offers broad Christian wisdom and ministry-minded preparation so families can reduce confusion, avoid avoidable conflict, and build peace before difficult seasons intensify.

It encourages wise planning without manipulation, care without control, and boundaries without abandonment.

    Rooted in Christian Formation

Rooted in Scripture, the Creation–Fall–Redemption framework, the Organic Humans philosophy, and the Ministry Sciences perspective, this course teaches that aging does not erase calling, later life still carries meaning, and preparing one’s affairs with love and clarity can itself be an act of ministry.

Whether taken by a parent, an adult child, a family together, or a ministry leader serving others, Aging with Honor offers a practical and deeply Christian roadmap for walking the later years with wisdom, stewardship, reconciliation, and hope.
