Ordination Pathway Self-Paced Addictions Recovery Ministry Focus
Are you called to bring Christ-centered presence, prayer, encouragement, accountability, and practical care to people and families impacted by addiction, recovery, relapse, grief, shame, broken relationships, and the search for lasting hope?

The Addictions Recovery Chaplain Ordination Program prepares called Christian leaders to serve as ordained chaplains who walk alongside individuals, families, churches, Soul Centers, recovery ministries, and community partners while remaining biblically grounded, accountable, and role-aware.

    Program Purpose

The purpose of the Addictions Recovery Chaplain Ordination Program is to equip Christian leaders with the calling, character, knowledge, skills, and accountability needed to serve as trusted spiritual care providers in addiction recovery and restoration ministry settings.

Addictions recovery chaplaincy is a ministry of faithful presence. It does not replace the local church, pastoral ministry, licensed counseling, addiction treatment, medical detox, recovery sponsorship, social work, legal advice, medical care, or emergency services.

Instead, it comes alongside people with Christian compassion, wise listening, prayer by permission, appropriate Scripture encouragement, practical support, accountability, and referral awareness when needs move beyond the chaplain’s role.

    You’ll Learn To

    Spiritual Care and Recovery Support

    • Understand the calling of addictions recovery chaplaincy as a ministry of faithful presence, prayer, listening, encouragement, accountability, and practical Christian care.
    • Serve wisely in churches, Soul Centers, recovery ministries, support groups, sober-living communities, outreach ministries, nonprofit settings, family support networks, and local relational ministry contexts.
    • Practice appropriate spiritual care by listening well, praying by permission, offering Scripture with sensitivity, encouraging faithful next steps, and recognizing when referral, reporting, treatment, or emergency support is needed.

    Boundaries and Ministry Wisdom

    • Support people and families impacted by addiction, relapse, grief, shame, broken trust, loneliness, trauma, life disruption, and the long journey of restoration.
    • Encourage recovery without enabling destructive patterns, minimizing consequences, replacing treatment, or overstepping the chaplain role.
    • Maintain clear boundaries and accountability through ethical awareness, confidentiality limits, safety practices, local oversight, role clarity, and sustainable ministry rhythms.
