    Are you called to bring Christ-centered presence, prayer, encouragement, and practical care through the life and outreach of a local church, Soul Center, ministry fellowship, or Christian community?

    The Church Community Chaplain Ordination Program prepares called Christian leaders to serve as ordained chaplains who support people in church-related and community-based settings while remaining biblically grounded, accountable, and connected to local Christian leadership.

    Program Purpose

    The purpose of the Church Community Chaplain Ordination Program is to equip Christian leaders with the calling, character, knowledge, skills, and accountability needed to serve as trusted spiritual care providers in church and community life.

    Church community chaplaincy is a ministry of presence. It does not replace the pastor, elder board, local church ministry, licensed counseling, social work, legal advice, medical care, or emergency services. Instead, it comes alongside people with Christian compassion, wise listening, prayer by permission, appropriate Scripture encouragement, practical support, and referral awareness when needs move beyond the chaplain’s role.

    Church Community Chaplains may serve through local churches, Soul Centers, small groups, neighborhood ministries, outreach efforts, senior communities, family-support ministries, workplaces, recovery environments, memorial care, visitation ministries, and other relational ministry settings.

    Spiritual Care and Ministry Presence

    • Understand the calling of church community chaplaincy as a ministry of faithful presence, prayer, listening, encouragement, and practical Christian care.
    • Practice appropriate spiritual care by listening well, praying by permission, offering Scripture with sensitivity, encouraging people in hardship, and recognizing when referral or reporting is needed.
    • Support people in life’s sacred moments through wedding ministry, funeral ministry, grief care, visitation, family care, and community-based pastoral presence.

    Church Connection and Role Clarity

    • Serve wisely in church-connected settings such as local congregations, Soul Centers, small groups, neighborhoods, senior communities, outreach ministries, family-support settings, workplaces, and relational ministry networks.
    • Maintain clear boundaries and accountability through ethical awareness, confidentiality limits, local church oversight, role clarity, and sustainable ministry rhythms.
    • Develop a local church community chaplaincy practice that reflects Christian maturity, public trust, servant leadership, and the mission of multiplying Christian leaders.
