    Ordination Is Public Recognition for Christian Ministry

    Ordination is the public recognition that a person has been called, prepared, affirmed, and commissioned for Christian ministry.

    In the Bible, ministry calling was never meant to be merely private. God calls people, but that calling is also recognized by others. The church prays, lays hands on leaders, sends them out, and entrusts them with ministry responsibility.

    Ordination includes several important parts.

    Calling

    A person senses that God is leading them to serve.

    Preparation

    A person studies Scripture, theology, ministry practice, and Christian leadership.

    Character

    A person is expected to walk with integrity, humility, faithfulness, and love.

    Local Confirmation

    Other believers, leaders, family members, ministries, fellowships, or Soul Centers affirm readiness.

    Commissioning

    The person is publicly prayed over and sent into ministry service.
