The Way of Forgiveness
Taught by Attorney/Pastor Brian DeCook and presented by Sythesia Avatar Haley Johnson
Forgiveness begins when we choose grace without denying the truth. Learning to forgive can help us respond to hurt, conflict, and broken trust with greater wisdom rather than bitterness or resentment. The Way of Forgiveness is a practical Christian Growth Mini-Course that explores how to receive God’s grace, face wrongdoing honestly, extend mercy, pursue wise repair, establish healthy boundaries, and walk toward greater spiritual and relational freedom through Jesus Christ.
Outcomes
By completing this Mini-Course, participants will:
Understand the role of forgiveness in Christian discipleship.
Learn to receive God’s forgiveness without minimizing sin or remaining trapped in condemnation.
Practice seeking and extending forgiveness with honesty, responsibility, grace, and wisdom.
Distinguish forgiveness from trust, reconciliation, and restored access.
Recognize the importance of healthy boundaries, accountability, and wise relational repair.
Develop Christ-centered responses to anger, conflict, relational wounds, and opportunities for forgiveness.
Requirements
Participants will complete assigned video presentations, readings, Bible studies, reflection activities, worksheets, and learning quizzes. The course also includes a private Way of Forgiveness Portfolio and a ninety-day Forgiveness Rule of Life for continued personal growth.
Personal worksheets, prayers, confessions, relationship reflections, and portfolio activities remain private and do not require public disclosure.
Important Care Reminder
Forgiveness does not require remaining in an unsafe relationship, overlooking serious wrongdoing, or restoring trust before meaningful change has occurred. This Mini-Course is educational and does not replace licensed counseling, legal advice, medical care, crisis intervention, domestic violence services, or other qualified professional support.
Grading and Completion
Pass/Fail System: A course average of 60% or higher is required to successfully complete the Mini-Course.
