The ordination program at the Christian Leaders Alliance is not an instant online ordination. It stands on two key pillars:
Study-based training through Christian Leaders Institute
Local endorsement from people who know your life and character
This follows the historic “laying on of hands” approach of the early church. In the early Christian community, those seeking ordination first became students (catechumens) and were then affirmed by local believers who saw their faith, growth, and integrity.
Because life gets busy and schedules fill up, we strongly encourage you to start the endorsement process early, not “someday later.” Many students wait—and then find themselves overwhelmed when they’re ready to be ordained but still need endorsements.
Here’s how to move forward:
Step 1: Begin Endorsement Level One
Just click the link and start your Level One endorsement, which fulfills the requirement for Wedding Officiant ordination.
This is the best place to start while you’re studying.
Step 2: Plan Ahead for Advanced Roles
If you later pursue roles like Licensed Minister, you will need two endorsements.
For Minister of the Word and other advanced roles, you will need three endorsements.
Different roles at the Christian Leaders Alliance require different endorsement levels, but all of them begin with the same wise step:
-
-
Listen to the videos and go through the readings. This section also includes resources you can use as an ordained Wedding Officiant. At the end of this section, complete an 8 question assessment quiz.
-

-
In this training section, you will learn how to make the wedding day special. This includes guidance on creating a personalized wedding program and conducting a seamless rehearsal and ceremony. Once you complete this section and the reference process, you will be eligible to order your official credentials.

This document provides a suggested format for a Christian Wedding Officiant Commissioning Service. While optional, holding a commissioning ceremony can be a meaningful way to publicly acknowledge your calling, affirm your training, and invite prayer and support from your church or community. It offers a special moment to celebrate and commit to your role as a servant-leader in marriage ministry. We encourage you to consider this step as you step into officiating with confidence and purpose.

If you're officiating weddings, providing premarital counseling, or actively engaged in marriage and relationship ministry, starting a Soul Center may be a natural next step in your calling.
A Soul Center within the Christian Leaders Alliance (CLA) is a registered Christian religious society designed to serve local communities or specific relational circles. Soul Centers are led by credentialed ministers who uphold the CLA Statement of Faith and follow the Soul Center Handbook. They offer a flexible and meaningful way to formalize and expand your ministry efforts—especially if you're officiating weddings regularly or supporting couples through mentoring or discipleship.
Soul Centers come in many forms, shaped by the gifting and vision of their leaders. For those focused on marriage ministry, your Soul Center could operate as:
-
A Christian officiant ministry
-
A premarital counseling practice
-
A marriage enrichment or retreat ministry
-
A house church or fellowship group for couples
By launching a Soul Center, you gain a recognized framework for your ministry, connect with the broader Christian Leaders Alliance network, and receive support and accountability as you grow. This is a great fit if you're building long-term impact through weddings and relationship-based ministry.
