About the Professor
Brandon Appelhans, M.Div Leadership
"I have lived most of my adult life inviting others into my wounds and sharing how they were healed. This work began with peer-to-peer relationships and expanded into a non-profit to equip faith communities to address and hold space for mental illness. I’ve led groups, developed content, and trained leaders to help people find their own value and reconcile their faith while affected by mental illness. That work is continued by the team at Anchor International - mental health support for churches and communities.
I have started and led for-profit and non-profit businesses and spent countless hours coaching individuals. Sometimes you need someone to understand the effort it takes to launch something. Sometimes you need someone who can help you re-integrate your values into your changed life. Always, we need someone to listen carefully and help us see what we cannot see, so we can bring forth our best selves."
Anchor InternationalSince 2011, Anchor International has been creating space for faith and mental health. Founded by two seminary students who struggled with navigating the landscape of bipolar disorder in the context of their faith, Anchor International strives to provide people everywhere with a safe space to pursue both mental and spiritual wellness. Our programs are designed to create community, empower self-care, and embrace our innate value as beloved children of God.Anchor International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating safe groups for mental wellness. They equip people to lead Christ-centered support groups in their churches and communities, because we believe all people can find hope and healing in the midst of mental and emotional health struggles.
