Marketplace Chaplain Ordination Program
A structured pathway equipping Christ-centered leaders to serve in workplaces, business settings, and marketplace relationships with spiritual care, wise boundaries, and compassionate support.
Are you called to bring Christ-centered presence, prayer, and spiritual care into workplaces, business settings, and marketplace relationships where people need hope, wisdom, and compassionate support?
The Marketplace Chaplain Ordination Program is a structured pathway that equips you with biblical, theological, and practical chaplaincy skills and provides a clear route to ordination and clergy credentialing through the Christian Leaders Alliance.Program PurposeA Marketplace Chaplain is a volunteer or part-time minister who brings Christ-centered presence, prayer, and spiritual care into workplace settings and marketplace environments where people work, lead, serve, struggle, and seek meaning. Chaplains serve employees, business owners, leaders, customers, teams, and workplace communities through compassionate listening, prayer, Scripture, emotional steadiness, encouragement, and appropriate pastoral presence.
Marketplace chaplaincy is ministry in a world shaped by work, pressure, productivity, relationships, leadership challenges, personal burdens, and everyday vocational life. It requires wisdom, humility, discernment, and clear boundaries. Chaplains may serve in businesses, offices, shops, service environments, nonprofit settings, local organizations, team cultures, and other approved marketplace contexts where spiritual care is welcome. They support people facing stress, grief, workplace conflict, burnout, uncertainty, family strain, spiritual questions, and moments of personal or professional crisis.
Marketplace chaplains do not come as “fixers,” controllers, or replacements for managers, pastors, counselors, or human resource professionals. They come as faithful servants of Jesus who offer calm presence, prayer, spiritual encouragement, and wise care in workplace and marketplace settings. They enter these relationships with compassion and clarity, helping people feel respected, heard, and spiritually supported while honoring consent, privacy, organizational expectations, and role boundaries.

Marketplace Chaplains and Soul Centers
A local ministry hub for Christ-centered care, prayer, discipleship, and community connection
A Soul Center within the Christian Leaders Alliance (CLA) is a locally registered Christian religious society designed to serve a specific community, relational circle, or ministry setting with Spirit-led presence, discipleship, and pastoral ministry. Soul Centers are led by credentialed ministers, including Ordained Marketplace Chaplains, who are trained and recognized through the Christian Leaders Alliance. Each leader affirms the CLA Statement of Faith and agrees to follow the best practices outlined in the Soul Center Handbook.
The core purpose of a Soul Center is to function as a local expression of the Church—a gathering and ministry hub where the love of Christ is demonstrated through biblical teaching, pastoral chaplaincy, prayer, discipleship, and supportive community connection.
For Marketplace Chaplains, Soul Centers often become a bridge between workplace relationships and Christ-centered spiritual encouragement—supporting individuals, employees, leaders, teams, business owners, and workplace communities with compassion, steadiness, dignity, and clear boundaries.🕊️ The Role of the Marketplace Chaplain in a Soul Center
Marketplace Chaplains help anchor Soul Centers by:
- Providing spiritual care and pastoral presence for individuals and workplace communities during seasons of stress, grief, conflict, uncertainty, burnout, transition, and personal or professional crisis
- Offering prayer, Scripture encouragement, spiritual support, and compassionate listening in a consent-based, role-aware way that honors workplace expectations, leadership structures, organizational boundaries, and wise ministry practices
- Supporting people facing discouragement, emotional overload, relational strain, vocational pressure, uncertainty, and spiritual searching in workplace and marketplace settings
- Encouraging healthy spiritual resilience, comfort, reconciliation, and hope—helping people take real steps toward peace, strength, wisdom, and renewed life in Christ
- Extending Christ’s compassion through community-based and workplace-connected support, including prayer gatherings, pastoral follow-up, referral awareness, church connections, and access to healthy Christian community
Whether encouraging an employee under stress, praying with a leader facing hard decisions, supporting a team after loss or disruption, offering steady pastoral presence in a business setting, or helping people respond wisely to workplace burdens, the Ordained Marketplace Chaplain extends the mission of the Soul Center into places where pressure, pain, confusion, and spiritual need are often quietly carried—bringing God’s presence with steadiness, clarity, and wise boundaries.
