Pet Assisted Chaplain Ordination Program
A structured pathway for bringing Christ-centered presence, prayer, and spiritual care into ministry settings where a well-prepared animal can help create comfort, trust, and compassionate connection.
Are you called to bring Christ-centered presence, prayer, and spiritual care into ministry settings where a well-prepared animal can help create comfort, trust, and compassionate connection for people in need of hope, wisdom, and support?
The Pet Assisted Chaplain Ordination Program equips you with biblical, theological, and practical chaplaincy skills and provides a clear route to ordination and clergy credentialing through the Christian Leaders Alliance.Program PurposeA Pet Assisted Chaplain is a volunteer or part-time minister who brings Christ-centered presence, prayer, and spiritual care into approved ministry settings where a calm, well-trained animal can support meaningful human connection. Chaplains serve individuals, families, seniors, children, church communities, visitation ministries, Soul Center outreach settings, and other care environments through compassionate listening, prayer, Scripture, emotional steadiness, encouragement, and wise animal-assisted ministry presence.
Pet assisted chaplaincy is ministry in real-life settings where people may be facing loneliness, grief, illness, confusion, spiritual questions, emotional pain, or a longing to be seen and comforted. It requires wisdom, humility, discernment, and clear boundaries. Chaplains may serve in community ministry, nursing homes, assisted living settings, holiday ministry, disability-sensitive environments, visitation settings, church-connected care opportunities, and other approved places where spiritual care and animal presence are welcome.
Pet assisted chaplains support people through calm presence and compassionate care while honoring consent, safety expectations, facility guidelines, and animal welfare.
Pet assisted chaplains do not come as performers, therapists, or novelty visitors. They come as faithful servants of Jesus who offer calm presence, prayer, spiritual encouragement, and wise care in settings where a well-prepared animal may help lower guardedness and open relational doors. They enter ministry situations with compassion and clarity, helping people feel respected, heard, and spiritually supported while honoring permissions, boundaries, and the limits of both the setting and the animal.

✝ What Is a Soul Center?Pet Assisted Chaplains and Soul CentersA Soul Center within the Christian Leaders Alliance (CLA) is a locally registered Christian religious society designed to serve a specific community or relational circle with Spirit-led presence, discipleship, and pastoral ministry.
Soul Centers are led by credentialed ministers, including Ordained Pet Assisted Chaplains, who are trained and recognized through the Christian Leaders Alliance. Each leader affirms the CLA Statement of Faith and follows best practices outlined in the Soul Center Handbook.
The core purpose of a Soul Center is to function as a local expression of the Church—a gathering and ministry hub where the love of Christ is demonstrated through biblical teaching, pastoral chaplaincy, prayer, discipleship, and supportive community connection.
For Pet Assisted Chaplains, Soul Centers often become a steady bridge between everyday life and Christ-centered spiritual encouragement—supporting individuals, families, seniors, caregivers, ministry guests, and community members through calm presence, compassionate interaction, and wise animal-assisted ministry.
🕊 The Role of the Pet Assisted Chaplain in a Soul Center
- Providing spiritual care and pastoral presence for individuals, families, seniors, and community members during seasons of grief, loneliness, illness, recovery, and life transition
- Offering prayer, Scripture encouragement, and discipleship support in a consent-based, role-aware way

- Encouraging dignity, compassion, emotional steadiness, and spiritual resilience
- Extending Christ’s compassion through listening, visitation, referral awareness, mentoring, and connection to local churches and care ministries
Whether supporting someone in a nursing home, visiting a person facing loneliness, encouraging a grieving family, or offering calm presence during community outreach, the Ordained Pet Assisted Chaplain brings God’s presence with compassion, wisdom, safety awareness, and clear boundaries.
