Whether you are married or not, this course discusses the spiritual principles of what makes a powerful kingdom partnership as a husband and wife become one spiritually, emotionally, and sexually. If you are married, it is recommended that your spouse participates in this course.
Course Outcomes:
- Develop character and ability to shepherd others on behalf of the Good Shepherd.
- Learn the biblical essentials of marriage.
- Cultivate health in one's own marriage (if married) and in the marriages of others.
- Improve listening skills, self-awareness, and healthy boundaries.
- Learn to deal wisely with conflict and live in the peace of Christ.
- Know how to minister to the sick in Jesus' name.
- Understand some of the major legal issues in pastoral care.
Assignments:- View all online lectures. (CLI computer tracks whether you do this.)
- Use the discussion forum to ask questions and exchange ideas with others.
- Take the online quiz for each unit. You will have 45 minutes to answer 8-10 questions for each quiz. Once a quiz starts, you must finish it and can't retake it. So be ready ahead of time. Each quiz covers readings and video lectures for that unit. While taking the quiz, you may use your notes and refer to articles and other materials. Tip: First, answer all the questions you know. Then try to look up answers to questions you don't know. When you have entered an answer for every question, submit the quiz for grading before the 45-minute limit.

You will have to start over and take the class again to receive credit.
Course Forum: Each course forum is at the beginning of the course, right before the first-course content section, and has comments and questions from other students in the class. The forum is a great way to post a question or comment for other students who are currently enrolled in the course to see. Read the amazing testimony of this fellow Christian Leaders Institute student:
CLI student Nicole Kendrick
"Hello, my name is Nicole Kendrick, and I have a minister training dream. I am 23 years old, a wife and mother of one. I am from a small town in Arkansas in the USA.
As a teenager and after my parent's divorce, I withdrew from faith and the church. It wasn't really until I had my son, a child I was told I would more than likely never have, that I started to regain my faith. Each day it grows more and more.
Recently, I found a home in a new church, that is very supportive of my call to pursue ministry. I was baptized anew and connected to a family that I look forward to seeing every week. It makes me feel loved and supported in my dreams. The free ministry training at CLI is essential to me. As a mom and wife, it is hard to find time for college. CLI has given me the time and flexibility I need to finish a program where I feel confident with what I learn. It has opened a door of opportunity and allowed me to afford a high-quality education. CLI gives me a boost in my leadership skills, not only as a Christian but as a mother and wife as well."
Please pray for Nicole!
