CLI is helping him pursue his dream of ministering to the youth!
CLI Student Ian Abad
"My name is Ian Abad. I currently live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Even though I am not originally from this country, I know a bit about what it is like to do ministry in it. Serving God in Canada is easy compared to the believers that belongs to countries who persecute Christians. Due to the comforts and the abundance of resources we have, we tend to not have the hunger to know God and have a relationship with Him. That is why I came to CLI, for me to be able to know Him more and for me to be an instrument for His will.
I came to know the Lord through my family. I was born in a Christian family. With that in mind, I am thankful.
In regards to my dream in ministry, I would like to be able to preach the gospel and reach out to the youths in my country. Even though I may face adversity through out the way, I will persist for the glory of God.
With my spiritual life right now, I identify myself as a Youth Leader. It is because I am passionate about our youth today being able to hear what our God has done because he loves them. I also believe that our youths today will be the next generation of believers. With that fact, I want to be able to get them equipped and ready as we continue to march under the banner of Christ.
What pushed me to serve God in a higher level is the suffering I had faced. Even though the adversity that I faced was not that bad, I still felt God's love and care throughout the time I was lonely and depressed. God's love gave me the push to serve for him and give him my all.
CLI's scholarship is very important to me and my ministry dream. With this resource, I will be able to learn more about Christ and share the gospel effectively to those who need God in their lives. This tool will be the key for me to have the wisdom I need to preach to the youth and the next generations of leaders."Please pray for Ian! If you would like, you can join Vision Partners in supporting Christian leaders like him who are called to enter Youth Ministry.
