    2. Admission Requirement Two: Update Your Student Profile

Admission Requirement Two: Update Your Student Profile

Your profile will be graded as your college writing entrance exam.

Some of you may have written your profile some time ago. If so, we encourage you to update and make sure it meets the requirements of this assignment. If you haven't completed your profile yet we are excited to learn more about your personal and spiritual journey.

Please include in your profile (testimony) the following:

    a. Your Spiritual Journey which may include your conversion to Christ and the way you accepted his forgiveness of sins - according to the Holy Scripture. Be sure you share some details of how God has been working in your life. Describe your involvement in a Christian church and the way you will use your studies at CLC for the glory of God.

    b. Personal Details that make you who you are and your unique calling and giftings to serve the Lord. Share a little about your family and current work.

This profile assignment needs to be a minimum of 300 words and a maximum of 1,000 words.

    * You will receive a grade of 100 and pass this assignment if you update your profile and upload that updated profile here for evaluation.
    * You will receive a 0 (zero) if you do not pass because either you did not update your profile (with your testimony), you did not upload your updated profile, or you did not submit it to read here for evaluation. For such a case, you will be allowed to redo this assignment only once.

More information and resources on submitting your profile:

Your student profile is very important for communicating the credibility of your studies to the world. Your profile will be a public witness connecting your walk with your studies, credentials, and ministry. Students must maintain and update their profiles.

Edit your profile by going to the left-hand menu; under the heading "settings," click "My profile settings" and select "edit profile" - or click here

Look at the pattern our President Henry Reyenga outlined below. You can do headings like President Henry Reyenga for each section of your profile or do a paragraph format.

Understand that this profile will be public and a testimony for Christ. If you need your profile private, you can do so in your directory settings at your profile edit page.

See Sample Profile from President Reyenga:

My name is Henry Reyenga Jr. I co-founded Christian Leaders Institute with Rich DeVos and Ron Parr on September 20, 2001. I have been the President of the Christian Leaders Institute since that time. I am married to Pam Reyenga, and we have five children and 16 grandchildren.

    Early Life and Conversion

Born in 1961, I am the last born of four children. My parents modeled a living faith and contentment to me, and at a young age, I gave my heart to Jesus and received a calling from God to ministry.

In my teenage years, my faith was tested through "worldly" temptations, but I did not leave the path of moderation which kept me out of trouble. This did not make me any better than anyone, but those tests sparked me to the road of more surrender and a more fruitful walk with God. Different tests still come my way which keep me on that road of surrender and fruitful service.

    Calling to Ministry

The calling to the ministry came in my teenage years as I noticed that my friends at school were living with little hope. Many turned to drugs and sex but were searching for God. I was seeking God, and many times he placed urgency in my heart to proclaim the gospel.

Since I was dyslexic, I struggled at Dordt College. But God opened the door for me by raising up people and opportunities for me so I was able to overcome. I even was hired at a radio station called KDCR because no one else would take the late night shift. This opportunity gave me valuable experience in overcoming my learning disability.

    Ministry Training

After I had graduated from Dordt College in 1983 with a BA in Philosophy,  we moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan, so I could attend Calvin Seminary. In 1987, I graduated there with a Masters of Divinity. I thank the Lord for my wife, Pamela, who read many assignments assisting me in all the reading at Seminary. I was ordained in 1988.

    Ministry Journey

Pam and I planted our first church in 1988 near Chicago. Then we went on to plant a church in Colorado and then Oregon. We returned to found a non-profit with Steve and Marie Ezinga called LifeNet 21. Lifenet merged with the Bible League in 1998, where I worked until 2001. Christian Leaders NFP was founded on September 20, 2001, after my experience in Manhattan on September 11, 2001. Pam and I bi-vocationally planted Family of Faith Church with Dr. David Feddes and his wife, Wendy. Christian Leaders Institute was added in 2006. In 2008, I served at Eagle Rock Community Church as the bi-vocational senior pastor. Christian Leaders Institute continued to grow, and in 2012, we moved to Grand Haven, Michigan, so that I could serve full-time as president of CLI.

I love to help mobilize strong and bold Christian leaders to reach more people for Christ. I have a heart for every called Christian leader, including the unlikely ones who would ordinarily never get ministry training but still need it and want it.

    Ordination

Henry Reyenga was ordained in the Christian Reformed Church in 1988. He is also ordained with the Christian Leaders Alliance and serves on the Christian Leaders Mentor Minister Council.

    Personal Life

I married Pamela Sue Feddema, the love of my life, on June 4, 1983. We have been blessed with five children and 16 grandchildren.

    Final reminder:
