Is anyone having trouble with this class?
Trouble, no -- challenge YES!
I thought I would breeze thru this class - so far, I've re-watched all the videos starting in Unit 7! The more I watch, the more I understand. Don't get discouraged! Go back and watch the videos over!

I'm sorry I ever took it. I should have taken philosophy instead. I'm terrible at math. I got my lowest grade ever in this one since I started CLC. I will look ahead at the materials in a class before I take one if it is an elective.
I wound up with a B-
Any way you could help with module 11, constructing proofs?
I have a love hate relationship with this class. Like you, I wanted to avoid math. As a result for the BA I was going to have to take this class regardless. That said, I am a straight A student. 24 classes in. I have never gotten a D on a quiz. It was dropped thank God, but this class is definitely a challenge. When I do the readings I understand. It makes sense. However, when I take the quizzes, it's clear that the readings don't go far enough in giving a variety of examples so that you can practice identifying these things. Pulling one page out of an entire text book that had multiple examples is just plain cruel. Again, because of the requirements for the BA of Divinity, I was gonna have to take this class as philosophy becomes one of my general eds, but I surely wish I could have passed this one up. Right now my grade is still an A, but I will most likely be on youtube and the internet getting more practice in before I hit "go" on another quiz. I refuse to ruin my GPA with a B or lower. I have until November, so I am gonna take my other classes and come back to this one as my last one. They made this uneccessarily complicated. Feedes lectures, no problem so far. The readings, definitely a challenge between the little bit of info and the quizzes. In my review I am definitely suggesting more practice examples. Arrrrrrrrrgh! Glad I am not alone.
Not only did I re-watch the videos, I tracked down the outside help of a math teacher! He proved to me that our minds think and see differently. Some of us are math and number minded, others are word and speech minded. He walked me thru a few problems. After that, things started to make sense! He was a great blessing for me with this class!
A challenge to CLI is that there isn't a place/time to ask questions of the instructors, which is understandable. It's up to the individual student to seek out help when needed. Many of us aren't ready to admit that!
Keep pushing forward - watch the videos again and again - look up a few online problems and work them out prior to taking the tests - find a tutor (or someone who thinks differently than you do - you might even be married to them!)
It's ok to not get straight A's. It might be disappointing, but it is part of life. No one can be great at everything! I can cook but my best friend can't - we compliment each other. People with all different skills are needed in this world. Use your God-given skills as He intends, learn from others who have skills that you wish you had (or are glad you don't have!).

I am having difficulties with this class. I'm not catching on to the curriculum. It's somewhat discouraging because I have breezed through my other classes. Any suggestions on how to get through this class?
I just took the 9B quiz & every quiz, it seems, is getting worse. I think I have a feel for it, and then realize I don't. I've even sought out extra help & I'm still lost.
Yes, unit 11 is missing some key information to fully understand the concept. Unit 12 is also missing a small bit of information as well. Both Dr. Feddes' overview and Van Cleave's book are lacking in key material to fully grasp the content you are tested on in unit 12.
I had to seek outside help from another college's professor to get answers. :(
