Additional Officiant Roles at Christian Leaders Alliance

Officiant roles focus on specific service areas, offering training tailored to each topic. Currently, the Christian Leaders Alliance offers the following Officiant roles:

Romance Officiant – Romance Officiants help people find, maintain and celebrate longterm relationships in Christ are trained to serve in the following capacities:

  • Hold consultations with individuals on romance-related issues, providing input and encouragement while maintaining good standing.
  • Meet with individuals and couples as a clergy member specializing in romance and long-term romantic relationship ministry.
  • Enjoy clergy status rights, including confidentiality in conversations as afforded to clergy members.
  • Minister through Bible Studies to clients and congregants.
  • Officiate at romantic events such as engagements and anniversaries.

To become a Romance Officiant, the Christian Leaders Alliance requires students to complete the Romance Officiant Skills Course and join the Christian Leaders Alliance by submitting one recommendation for Level One Endorsement, along with an updated ministry profile in the Christian Leaders Alliance Directory. See Course and Enroll. 

Funeral Officiant – Funeral Officiants are trained to serve individuals and families in their times of grief, including conducting funerals. They serve in the following capacities:

  • Function as a Funeral Officiant in a clergy role.
  • Articulate Christian Theology concerning death, the afterlife, and final resurrections.
  • Plan funerals with diverse groups of people.
  • Craft appropriate funeral messages.
  • Conduct funerals and serve in follow-up.

To become a Funeral Officiant, the Christian Leaders Alliance requires students to complete the Funeral Officiant Skills Course and join by submitting one recommendation for Level One Endorsement and an updated ministry profile in the Christian Leaders Alliance Directory. See Course and Enroll.

Ministry Officiant – Ministry Officiants are trained in the essentials of ministry, elevating what might have been considered lay ministry to a clergy-level role through rigorous training.

Ministry Officiants are allowed to serve in the following capacities:

  • Serve in various settings as a licensed clergy member in the ordination program at Christian Leaders Alliance.
  • Perform religious duties such as administering the Lord’s Supper and performing baptisms.
  • Offer prayers and blessings across various settings.
  • Visit the sick in hospitals (note: most hospitals require you to have a Christian Leaders Alliance Clergy ID in your possession).
  • Serve as a pastor or minister in a house church.
  • Serve at churches as a local minister in good standing.

To become a Ministry Officiant, the Christian Leaders Alliance requires students to complete the Ministry Officiant Skills Course and join the Christian Leaders Alliance by submitting one recommendation for Level One Endorsement, along with an updated ministry profile in the Christian Leaders Alliance Directory. See Course and Enroll. 

The Officiant roles at the Christian Leaders Institute offer exciting ministry opportunities for called Christians. These roles often launch individuals into further training and ordination levels.
