What is up Latin climates. This is Antoine Wade, and in today's video, I'm going to be discussing the top 10 careers for management information systems graduates. That is right. The top 10 careers for management information systems graduates. Welcome back to black guys channel. We talk about all things related to the skill development in the IT sector. Now before we get to the video, do me a stone cold favorite and stump that Like button as it helps us grow the channel and guys in this video, we are going to jump directly into the top 10 careers of a MIS graduate. Let me first start off with the definition of management information systems. And management information systems is the combination between business and technology, and the Students in this major really get an opportunity to learn how organizations of all kinds, how they can use systems in the data in these systems to make better business decisions. And the field overlaps with computer science and information technology, but it is unique because the focus is on how people can interact with IT systems. And management information systems are really good at communication and really good at wanting to understand technology and wanting to learn technology and wanting to teach people technology. And if you studied management information systems, you are in luck. Not only does this degree provide a strong employment prospects, but it also provides excellent salaries, where median salaries for positions are more than double that of other industries, and the average Computer and Information Systems Manager can earn upwards of $140,000 a year. That's right, guys, $140,000 a year. And this degree really provides students with a range of transferable skills, including computer programming, web analytics, social media and more. And the training prepares graduates for an exciting careers in Management Information Systems, operations, HR, beyond your belief. Now you guys understand why I think Management Information Systems one of the best majors, because it is so flexible and you can go in almost any industry with it. Now, guys, we are going to jump into the top 10 careers for management information systems, starting at number 10. At number 10 is a software engineer. This was the role that I started in after graduating with the management information systems degree. And software engineers helped to create everything from computer games and, you know, network control systems, and they use their coding and programming to really design, test and improve the software product. And for someone who is, you know, inventive, or, you know, have a personality to be creative and love new technology, a career in software engineer could be fun, exciting and really intellectually challenging. And MIS graduates are a natural fit for this role because it is fast growing, and the average salary for software engineer these days is 101k per year. That is right, 101k per year in the growth rate is around 27% at number nine is a data scientist and most Management Information Systems programs offer at least one course in data science for business and for students who excel in this area. A career in data science is really an ideal fit.
And in the data science profession, you really get to understand how business collect valuable customer data, then clean it, then organize it, and store and then analyze it. And then what you would do is you present these findings in a clear and a compelling way so that you can help the organizations make more strategic and informed business decisions. And the average wage for a data scientist is $122,000 a year at number eight is a search marketing strategist, and web analytics is one of the many topics that MIS students will cover during their degree program, and they are armed with this training and how websites are accessed, perceived, and how They are used. And graduates will you know, learn how to use search marketing strategies. And really, search marketing strategists and strategies are really a fast paced analytical job, and really what it does is help business of all kinds improve their web presence and increase sales and attract new customer. So it's really a marketing job. In the average salary for search marketing strategist is $93,000 per year, and in growth is about 9.3% at number seven is an IT manager. And IT managers have a unique mix of business. Skills and technology, knowledge and management information systems, graduates can make great IT managers, and in this career as an IT manager, you'll get a chance to oversee diverse teams of programmers, developers, computer system analysts and others, and what you end up doing is direct the work of these skilled professionals to keep the firm's information technology systems running smoothly and securely as possible. And the wage for an IT manager guys is about $90,000 a year, and the growth rate is also 9.3% at number six is a librarian, and books are librarians bread and butter, and although books are still core to most libraries, you know, basically other content is starting to take over. And now that technology is advancing, librarians are becoming more tech savvy than ever, and to succeed in this job, you really need to interact with a wide range of information systems, including digital archives and ebooks and research databases and more in management. Information Systems, with their skills in management and technology, is really an ideal candidate for this role in a librarian. Average wage is about $62,000 a year. So this is a great entry level job, and the growth is about 9% so as I mentioned, it's a really good entry level job to get yourself into the IT world into continue to climb the corporate ladder. At number five is an app developer and Management Information Systems receive training in networking and software development, really honing their skills in computer programming and things like that, and these skills will allow you to become strong and give you the ability to pursue a career in app development. And in this role, you will really work with graphic artists and data scientists and other developers to create apps of all kinds, whether it's a mobile app or whether it is a, you know, a desktop app or an apple app or iOS app, right? And it really, you'll be able to use your creative and analytical skills to, you know, make some things that are, it seems like impossible possible to the world, and this is a really a dream job for MIS students. And an app
developer, salary, or the average wage, for an app developer, is about $95,000 per year. At number four is an information security analyst, and information security analysts really play a key role in any business these days, especially now with there being so many hacks and cybersecurity being one of the most important, you know, divisions in an organization, but by providing reviews and analysis of the organization's various IT structures. You know, information security analysts really help to protect their organizations from security threats. And you know, analysts in this role need to be able to possess a solid understanding of the business as well as show you know how to design, implement, analyze and maintain it. Systems and MIS graduates are really a natural fit, because that is what you learn how to do in your education. And information security analysts typically make about $108,000 a year, and it is a fast growing sector with an average growth of about 20.5% at number three is a database administrator, and a database administrator is really a common job for a Management Information Systems major, and you will learn professional skills to use, to specialize software, to store, protect and organize data. It's all about data for database administrators, and they oversee all aspects of database administration, including the design of the database, the security of the data database, the troubleshooting of the database, and a lot more in Management Information Systems. Graduates, you know, with their unique understanding of how data systems work and how business operations work, it really makes them a good fit for this role. And Database Administrators make about $93,000 on average, and it is a fast growing industry, or fast growing sector in IT as well. At 11.5% at number two is a search engine optimization specialist and search engine optimization specialist, also known as SEO, has become really the currency of the internet. SEO specialists support the work of the business by reviewing and analyzing and improving their website. Their goal is to maximize web traffic, and these professionals really help to reach new customers and increase profits for the business. The SEO industry is constantly evolving and changing, making this a. Challenging and rewarding career, and a search engine optimization specialist makes around $48,000 per year, and at number one guys is a computer systems administrator. And computer system administrators are professionals who oversee the day to day operations of an organization's computer and network system. So they install, monitor, organize a wide area networks, local area networks, intranets and other communication processes. And computer systems administrators help businesses to run more smoothly and effectively.
