This course is designed to equip individuals with the theological, practical, and pastoral skills necessary to officiate as volunteer or part-time evangelists. It features teachings from Grace Community Church of Sarasota, Florida, under the leadership of Dr. Chip Bennett. 

Each topic integrates biblical foundations, practical applications, and strategies for sharing the faith and spreading Christianity.

Course Outcomes for Faith Officiant Skills

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Understand Key Theological Elements of the Gospel – Articulate the foundational truths of the Christian faith, including the message of salvation, grace, and Christ’s role in redemption.
  • Effectively Share Their Faith – Communicate the gospel with clarity and confidence.
  • Empathize with Doubts and Seekers – Recognize and engage with the doubts and struggles of those exploring faith, offering compassionate and thoughtful guidance.
  • Utilize Popular Plans of Salvation learning essential knowledge to become effecitive in sharing the faith.  – Become familiar with well-known gospel presentation methods (e.g., the Romans Road, the Four Spiritual Laws). Teaching is included that is essential for effectiveness in evangelism. 
  • Support and Strengthen a Local Church – Serve as a faith officiant within a church community, assisting in outreach, discipleship, and faith-based celebrations to encourage spiritual growth and engagement.
  • Get Introductory Training on Starting a New Church – Many faith officiants sense a calling to church planting. This course will help you discern whether that is your path.

Course Structure and Requirements

  • Resources: All course content is provided through readings and video lectures.
  • Assignments:
    • Watch all video lectures.
    • Complete all required readings.
    • Take quizzes based on lectures and readings (100% of the grade).
    • You may refer back to materials while taking quizzes.
    • Quizzes have a 45 minute limit and allow one retake per quiz.

Note: A minimum average of 60% is required to pass the course. Otherwise, you will fail and receive no credit.

Course Deadline

  • You have 180 days to complete the course.
  • All assignments must be submitted before the deadline.
  • If the deadline is missed, you will be automatically unenrolled, and all coursework will be removed.
  • To receive credit, you will need to restart and retake the course.
