Bible Study: We Fight From Victory
Bible Study: We Fight From Victory
Introduction
Welcome back once again. We’re now in Session 17 of our Spiritual Warfare class.
In the last few sessions, we’ve been zeroing in on the strategies and schemes of the enemy. We’ve seen that Satan rarely attacks head-on—his work is usually subtle, deceptive, and devastatingly effective when we’re not alert.
Let’s review a few of the tactics we've covered so far:
Subtle traps set especially for God's leaders
Schism and division within the Body of Christ
Siege tactics, prolonged suffering meant to wear us down
Surprise attacks, like flaming arrows coming out of nowhere
Enslavement, spiritual bondage lasting for years
Personal tactics:
Bitterness and unforgiveness
Pain and suffering used to break our hope
The fear of death, always lurking
Wicked intentions injected into people’s hearts
Demonic entry or control in extreme cases
Torment and hindrance against God’s servants
Lies and mistrust, the enemy’s native language
All of this has been laying the groundwork for a key shift.
🗡️ It’s Time to Move from Awareness to Action
Today, we make a turn. We're stepping out of the analysis of Satan's tactics and into our counterattack.
We’re moving from: "What’s the enemy doing?"
to
"Where do we stand—and how do we fight back?"
And here’s the good news:
We fight from a position of victory.
Let me say that again—we’re not trying to gain victory in Christ…
We’re fighting from it.
🏀 A Story About a Game Already Won
In 2004, during the U.S. Men’s Olympic Basketball games, a missionary named Phil was traveling overseas. He called home and talked with his son in the United States.
Asia is many hours ahead of the U.S., and during the call, Phil’s son said, “Dad, the U.S. team is playing right now. We’re down by 10 points!"
But Phil wasn’t worried. “Relax. We’re going to win,” he said.
His son didn’t understand. “No, Dad, I’m watching it. We’re losing!”
Phil calmly replied: “The game already ended here. I’ve seen the score. We won.”
That’s your position in Christ.
You may feel like you’re in the thick of it— but God has already declared the outcome: Victory.
🏆 The Victory Has Been Secured
“We don’t fight for victory. We fight from victory.”
That’s our strategic position in spiritual warfare.
1 John 4:4 (WEB):
“You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.”
1 John 5:4–5 (WEB):
"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?"
Revelation 12:11 (WEB):
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony. They didn’t love their life, even to death.”
We win by:
The blood of the Lamb
The word of our testimony
Faith that surrenders all to Jesus
🛡️ Our Strategic Position: Disarming the Enemy
James 4:7 (WEB):
“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
Submit + Resist = The devil flees.
Satan doesn’t flee from your strength.
He flees from the presence and power of God in you.
Colossians 2:15 (NIV):
“Having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.”
Jesus has:
Disarmed Satan’s weapons
Publicly shamed the enemy
Triumphed through the Cross
We don’t fight hoping we might win. We fight because the battle is already won.
✨ The Cross: From Defeat to Glory
Satan thought he had won at Calvary.
But what looked like Jesus' defeat was the enemy's total destruction.
“What the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good.”
The Cross wasn't just victory.
It was a cosmic reversal.
Death was defeated by death.
🌍 Our Marching Orders
Romans 8:1 (WEB):
"There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
Romans 8:37:
“In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
Matthew 28:18-20:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations... And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Christ is with you.
The Spirit is in you.
The battle is won.
Walk in victory.
🙏 Application: How Do We Fight from Victory?
Renew your mind daily (Romans 12:2)
Declare Scripture out loud when tempted or discouraged
Stay submitted to God
Resist lies with truth
Live boldly in Christ's authority
Worship often and with joy
You are not fighting for victory.
You are fighting from victory.
Let us live, serve, pray, and love from that place of power.
