Drops, Withdrawal, and Administrative Withdrawal
What is a Drop?
- A drop removes a course from your record entirely—nothing appears on your transcript.
- You may drop up to two courses per semester. CLI operates on a three-semester system: Semester 1: January – April, Semester 2: May – August, Semester 3: September – December
- Mini courses in English may be dropped at any time with no transcript record. There is no eligibility restriction.
- If you drop from a course and choose to re-enroll later, you will need to start the course from the beginning.
- For CDS and LES courses, you can drop only if you’ve completed no more than two quizzes or graded assignments total (including in any previous enrollment).
- Example: If you complete Quiz 1 and 2, drop the course, then re-enroll and take Quiz 1 again, you've now completed 3 quizzes total and can no longer drop the course.
If a student has dropped two courses in a semester or has completed more than the allowed amount of quizzes or assignments to drop, there will be an option to withdraw from the course.
What is a Withdrawal (W)?
- A withdrawal removes you from a course after you’ve passed the drop limit or completed too much content to drop.
- Withdrawals do appear on your transcript (W).
- If you withdraw from a course and choose to re-enroll later, you will need to start the course from the beginning.
Withdrawal Eligibility:
- You are eligible to withdraw only if you have completed 40% or less of the graded assignments in the course gradebook.
What is Administrative Withdrawal (AW)?
- If you don’t drop or withdraw and do not complete the course by the enrollment deadline, you’ll receive an Administrative Withdrawal (AW). This will appear on your LES transcript for any course and your CDS transcript for any college-level course granting units.
- You may request a 2-week extension via Help Desk (helpdesk@christianleaders.net
) to finish the course if your enrollment deadline is approaching and you have not progressed appropriately through the material. If your enrollment just ended, you will be administratively withdrawn and receive an AW on the Course Dashboard for that course. You may still request an extension, but four weeks after the enrollment period ends, if the course was not completed after an extension and requested to be updated by the Registrar's Office, you will receive an AW on your transcript for that course.
