  • ICIncident Commander: The person responsible for overall management of an emergency response scene.

National/Organizational Abbreviations

  • ICSIncident Command System: A standardized approach to managing emergencies that ensures clear roles, responsibilities, and communication during an incident.

Chaplaincy Context

  • LODDLine of Duty Death: Refers to the death of a firefighter or emergency responder while performing official duties. Chaplains are often called upon to minister in these tragic moments.

  • CISMCritical Incident Stress Management: A structured approach to help emergency responders process trauma after a difficult incident.

  • MCIMass Casualty Incident: An event with multiple injured or deceased victims, requiring expanded emergency response resources.
