Video Transcript: Introduction Video
Hello everyone, and welcome to BUS410 – Christian
Entrepreneurship.
My name is Dr. Charles Streeter, and I’m honored to walk with you through
this exciting journey of faith, innovation, and purpose. I believe you’re not
here by accident. You’re here because God has placed something within you —
creativity, vision, and a calling to make an impact through entrepreneurship.
Before we begin, let’s open with a word of prayer.
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the opportunity to learn, to explore new ideas, and to grow in
both faith and wisdom. Lord, we ask that Your Spirit fill this course from
beginning to end — that every student here would discover how to use their
gifts for Your glory.
Guide our thoughts, inspire our creativity, and let our work honor You in all
that we do.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
Once again, welcome to the course. Whether you are a business major, ministry leader, or simply someone exploring how faith connects to entrepreneurship, this course is designed to help you understand how biblical principles guide every aspect of business and innovation.
In BUS410, we’ll explore what it truly means to be a Christian entrepreneur—not merely someone who creates profit, but someone who creates purpose-driven value in alignment with God’s kingdom. We’ll learn to see business as a ministry platform, a means of serving others, and a reflection of God’s creativity.
Scripture gives us powerful models for this. In the beginning, God Himself demonstrated entrepreneurship — forming something new out of nothing, bringing order and purpose to creation. As Genesis 1:27–28 reminds us, we are made in His image and called to multiply and steward what He’s entrusted to us. That calling applies not only to families or ministries but also to the ideas and innovations we bring into the marketplace.
Every module in this course will invite you to think differently about business — to consider how faith empowers creativity, how purpose fuels innovation, and how integrity defines leadership. You’ll be challenged to explore how prayer, scripture, and biblical discernment shape decisions about opportunity, risk-taking, and responsibility.
We’ll discuss what it means to set goals that honor God, to build teams that reflect servant leadership, and to operate with ethics and humility in every decision. You’ll see that the entrepreneurial spirit guided by faith can shape industries, serve communities, and bear witness to God’s character.
As Jesus said in Matthew 5:16:
“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and
glorify your Father in heaven.”
That verse captures the essence of this course — using business as a light that
reflects God’s love and truth in a world that desperately needs both.
Throughout this class, you’ll engage in readings, discussions, and activities designed to stretch both your intellect and your faith. You’ll encounter scripture and stories of entrepreneurs who lived out biblical principles in their work — people who saw business as calling, not competition.
Each week you’ll complete a short quiz to reinforce what you’ve learned. These help you stay engaged with the material and gauge your understanding of entrepreneurial and biblical concepts. Think of them as spiritual and intellectual checkpoints on your journey.
You’ll also have two major written assignments — one at Week 5 and one at Week 12. Each paper will ask you to apply what you’ve learned to real-world situations, integrating both practical business ideas and biblical truth. Read the instructions carefully, follow the rubrics provided, and don’t hesitate to reach out with questions. I’m here to help you through every step.
I also want to speak briefly about academic
integrity because it’s an important reflection of character.
Please take time to review the policies
on cheating and plagiarism posted in the course materials.
These are not just academic rules—they are extensions of our spiritual values.
Proverbs 10:9 says, “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely.”
As Christian entrepreneurs and learners, integrity should be our foundation.
How we learn reflects how we lead.
As we move through the course, you’ll begin to see how faith and innovation are not competing ideas but complementary forces. Faith empowers vision — it allows you to dream beyond what’s visible. Innovation gives those dreams form and action. The combination of faith and innovation produces stewardship, influence, and kingdom impact.
You’ll learn how to spot opportunities that
create social and spiritual value, how to form an entrepreneurial mindset
grounded in service, and how to lead teams with humility and courage.
You’ll explore business models, leadership strategies, and ethical frameworks
that remind us that entrepreneurship is not self-centered ambition but
God-centered creation.
Christian entrepreneurship asks: “How can
what I build bless others?”
That question transforms every business plan into a mission plan.
We also look at the world beyond ourselves —
how Christian entrepreneurs influence global markets, support communities
facing poverty, and use technology as a tool for ministry.
In every case, you’ll see that faith not only belongs in business — it brings
business to life.
No matter where you are in your calling, this course will help you see the
marketplace as a mission field and innovation as worship when guided by the
Holy Spirit.
As your instructor, I want you to know that I’m here for you. If you ever find a part of the course unclear, or if something in the course site isn’t working properly, please reach out to me by email. I’ll do my best to provide clarity, guidance, or technical support as quickly as possible.
Your success matters — not just as students, but as future leaders who will bring kingdom principles into boardrooms, classrooms, start-ups, and beyond.
This class is not just an academic experience — it’s a spiritual journey. You’ll grow in faith as much as you grow in business acumen. You’ll find that as you plan, persevere, and innovate, you’re also deepening your trust in God’s provision.
As we close this introduction, let us pray.
Heavenly Father,
We thank You again for every student You’ve brought to this course. Bless their
thoughts, their ideas, their energy, and their faith. Give them the wisdom to
discern Your will and the strength to follow through with boldness and
conviction.
Lord, help each of us to lead with integrity, to serve with humility, and to
innovate with Kingdom purpose.
May the work done in this class ripple outward into homes, communities, and the
world — bearing witness to Your provision and grace.
We place this course, our learning, and our efforts in Your hands.
In Jesus’ precious name, we pray.
Amen.
