Welcome to Getting Started in the Chaplaincy Program at Christian Leaders Institute. If you are here, there is a good chance that something in your heart is stirring. Maybe you feel drawn to care for people in hard moments. Maybe you want to serve others with prayer, presence, and compassion. Maybe you are simply trying to understand whether chaplaincy could be part of your calling.

This course is here to help you begin.

You do not need to have your whole future figured out today. You do not need to know exactly where you will serve. And you do not need to arrive with impressive credentials already in place. This course is designed to help you take a clear and realistic first step.

At Christian Leaders Institute, chaplaincy is understood as a ministry of presence. Chaplains often meet people in meaningful, difficult, sacred, or transitional moments. They listen, pray, encourage, and represent the love and truth of Christ with wisdom and humility.

For some students, this will become a volunteer path. For others, it may become part-time ministry. A smaller number may sense a possible future in fuller professional chaplain service. This course does not rush you toward a title. It helps you begin with clarity.

As you move through this course, you will learn how the Christian Leaders Institute ecosystem works, how the Licensed Chaplain pathway begins, why foundations matter, and what practical next steps are available to you.

One of the most important ideas in this course is very simple: foundation comes before specialization. Before you focus on a specific ministry setting, it is important to understand the pathway, the formation process, and the kind of servant-hearted ministry chaplaincy requires.

This course is meant to feel like an open door. It is here to welcome you, not pressure you. It is here to guide you, not overwhelm you.
