🧭 4.4 Local Church Mentorship and Oversight Agreement

Purpose

This agreement helps a pastor, elder, deacon, board member, ministry director, or approved mentor walk with a Christian Leaders Institute student who is preparing for ministry service through a possible Christian Leaders Alliance pathway.

The goal is to connect training, calling, character, role clarity, and supervision.

This agreement is built around the course’s central pattern:

CLI trains. CLA recognizes. The local church mentors and deploys.

A church does not need to make this agreement complicated. It can be adapted for small churches, rural churches, house churches, Soul Centers, larger congregations, denominational churches, and independent churches. The key is that trained leaders are not left alone. They are known, mentored, guided, and deployed with wisdom.

2. Shared Ministry Understanding

7. Ministry Observation and Practice Plan

Before public leadership authority is assigned, the student may move through stages of supervised ministry practice.

15. Final Encouragement

A local church mentorship and oversight agreement is not meant to make ministry cold or bureaucratic.

It is meant to make ministry faithful.

It helps a pastor say to a developing leader:

“We see God at work in you. We want to walk with you. We want your training to become fruitful service. We want your calling to be tested, strengthened, and released in the right way. We want the people you serve to be cared for wisely. We want you to serve with humility, courage, accountability, and joy.”

That is the heart of church-based leadership multiplication.
