Vision differences are quite common. Many of us sport a pair of  glasses or contact lenses. When they are in place, the world comes nicely into  view. When we remove these from our eyes, all of a sudden the small phone  number on the back of our debit card becomes totally unreadable. For some  individuals, however, vision differences might be more complex. While corrective lenses might help a bit, an individual might have only partial vision or blindness.  Most adults have had the benefit of discovering great tools to help support that  vision difference. Some may have been taught to read in braille. Others have  technology that allows them to alter the size or contrast of the visual material so  that it's easier to see. Others hope that written materials are always available in

large print. Some churches offer large print options each Sunday for bulletins  and bibles. One of the reasons this together curriculum is available online is to  facilitate those why may benefit from viewing the materials through their pieces  of technology. Learn what is most helpful for the member of your small group or  church and help provide access to those tools. Also, have a discussion with the  group as a whole so that all members are comfortable knowing how to say hi,  shake hands, or move around the room together. As you use highly visual  materials, remember to provide a verbal explanation to those materials,  gestures, or movements. This will allow everyone present to participate in  meaningful ways.
