Video Transcript: 1A: Seeing Your Life as God Designed It

Hi, I am Haley, a Christian Leaders Institute presenter.

Welcome to Christian Gratitude Growth.

This course is about learning to see your life as God designed it. Not as a mistake. Not as a random accident. Not as a pile of regrets. Not as something you have to pretend is always easy.

Christian gratitude begins with this truth: your life is a gift from God.

Genesis teaches that God created the heavens and the earth, and that human beings are made in God’s image. That means your body, your story, your relationships, your calling, your struggles, and your hope all matter before God.

Christian Gratitude Growth teaches two important practices.

The first is Gratitude Eyes. Gratitude Eyes help you notice grace. You begin to see the gifts you used to overlook: breath, food, beauty, friendship, forgiveness, endurance, wisdom, and even growth that came through hard seasons.

The second is Gratitude Attitude. Gratitude Attitude is a renewed way of thinking. It is not fake happiness. It is not pretending pain does not exist. It is learning to interpret your life through God’s creation, God’s mercy, God’s redemption, and God’s promises.

In this course, we will also practice Christian Gratitude Discernment. Discernment means we do not just name random blessings. We learn to ask, “Lord, what am I seeing? What am I missing? Where is grace showing up? What needs healing? What should I receive? What should I release?”

The Bible encourages this practice, and Ministry Sciences observes a similar pattern in human formation: what people repeatedly notice, name, rehearse, and receive begins to shape how they live.

Christian gratitude includes your whole life as an embodied soul. God made male and female as gifts. God made the body good. God made relationships meaningful. God gave work, rest, calling, and hope.

But gratitude also has to be honest. We live after the fall. There is grief, sin, trauma, disappointment, depression, anxiety, anger, and regret. Christian gratitude does not erase those things. It helps us see them in the presence of God.

So as you begin this course, do not force yourself to feel thankful for everything.

Start here: “God, help me see my life with your eyes.”

That prayer is the beginning of Christian Gratitude Growth.
