📝 Worksheet 12.4: My Christian Gratitude Growth Plan

Opening Thought

Christian Gratitude Growth is not finished when a course ends.

It becomes a way of walking with God.

You have learned that gratitude is not denial, shallow positivity, religious pressure, or pretending life is easy. Christian gratitude is learning to see your life as God designed it, even in a broken world, through the grace of Jesus Christ and the hope of the resurrection.

This worksheet will help you create a simple plan you can actually practice.

Keep it small.

Keep it honest.

Keep it rooted in Christ.

Scripture Reflection

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”
1 Corinthians 15:58, WEB

Because Christ is risen, your labor is not in vain.

Your prayers are not wasted.

Your service is not invisible to God.

Your repentance matters.

Your forgiveness matters.

Your body matters.

Your relationships matter.

Your hidden faithfulness matters.

Your grief is not ignored.

Your story is not over.

Christian gratitude grows stronger when it remembers resurrection hope.

Part 1: My Daily Gratitude Practice

Choose one small daily practice you can continue after this course.

Do not choose something impressive.

Choose something faithful.

I will practice daily gratitude by:

☐ Praying one sentence each morning: “Lord, help me notice one grace today.”
☐ Writing one sentence each evening: “Today I thank God for…”
☐ Reading one Bible verse and naming one grace connected to it.
☐ Thanking one person specifically each day.
☐ Naming one hard thing and one grace before bed.
☐ Taking a short gratitude walk.
☐ Other: _______________________________________________

My chosen daily practice is:

When will I practice it?

Where will I practice it?

How will I keep it simple enough to continue?

Part 2: My Weekly Gratitude Review

Once a week, take a few minutes to review your life before God.

This is not a performance review.

This is a grace review.

Each week, I will ask:

Where did I notice God’s grace this week?

What was hard this week?

Where did I need wisdom, confession, help, or boundaries?

What is one faithful step God may be inviting me to take?

My weekly review day will be:

Prayer

Lord,

Thank you for creating me as a living soul before you.

Thank you for my life, my body, my story, my relationships, my calling, and my future in Christ.

I confess that I often miss your grace.

Sometimes I complain before I notice.

Sometimes I worry before I pray.

Sometimes I rehearse regret, resentment, fear, or shame.

Sometimes I try to be grateful by pretending instead of telling the truth.

Teach me a better way.

Give me Gratitude Eyes to notice your grace.

Give me a Gratitude Attitude shaped by Scripture, humility, hope, and the fruit of the Spirit.

Help me practice gratitude without denying pain.

Help me name hardship without losing hope.

Help me receive mercy in Jesus Christ.

Help me serve faithfully in ordinary life.

When I miss a day, call me back without shame.

When I feel weak, remind me that your grace is near.

When I face grief, remind me that Christ is risen.

When I feel unfinished, remind me that my story is held in your hands.

Thank you that my labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Thank you that death does not get the final word.

Thank you that you are making all things new.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.
