Welcome to Developing a Wedding Ministry.

In this course, we are going to explore something very practical, very biblical, and very missional. We are going to talk about how a wedding officiant can develop a real Christian marriage ministry.

I am using my Synthesia presenter in this course so that this training can be clear, consistent, and accessible to students around the world. Whether you are in the United States, Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, or a small village or city somewhere else, the calling is the same: serve people faithfully, proclaim Christ clearly, and honor marriage as God designed it.

A wedding ministry is more than performing a ceremony. A wedding ceremony is often one of the most spiritually open moments in a couple’s life. A bride and groom are thinking about love, promises, family, future, children, finances, faith, commitment, and meaning. They may not be ready to attend church every Sunday. They may not ask for a Bible study. But they may welcome a conversation about their wedding.

That conversation can become a sacred doorway.

In Scripture, marriage begins in creation. Genesis 2:24 says, “Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.” Jesus quotes this passage in Matthew 19 when he teaches about marriage. Paul points to marriage as a profound mystery that reflects Christ and the church in Ephesians 5.

So when we talk about wedding ministry, we are not merely talking about planning an event. We are talking about covenant, household, discipleship, witness, romance, family, and local ministry multiplication.

In this course, you will learn how to clarify your calling, connect to a local church or Soul Center, think about a MinistryBiz model, understand legal and financial responsibilities, promote your ministry with beauty and trust, and create a 90-day launch plan.

The goal is not simply to say, “I can officiate weddings.”

The goal is to say, “I am developing a faithful Christian wedding ministry that blesses couples, strengthens marriages, and opens doors for the gospel.”
