This worksheet follows the Developing a Wedding Ministry course template, especially its goal of helping students move from simply saying, “I can officiate a wedding,” to developing a faithful Christian marriage ministry.
Worksheet Purpose
This worksheet helps you clarify your personal calling, ministry identity, role, readiness, and next steps in developing a wedding ministry.
A wedding ministry may begin with one ceremony, but it can grow into a broader calling: wedding officiating, premarriage conversations, covenant ceremony design, life coaching, community chaplaincy, Soul Center ministry, local church partnership, MinistryBiz development, or future ordained ministry roles.
Use this worksheet slowly and prayerfully. The goal is not to impress anyone. The goal is to discern what God may be calling you to build with wisdom, humility, and accountability.
Brief Biblical Framing
Genesis 2:24 says:
“Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh.”
Marriage is not merely a legal arrangement or romantic celebration. It is a covenantal joining before God.
Hebrews 13:4 says:
“Let marriage be held in honor among all.”
A wedding minister honors marriage by preparing carefully, serving humbly, speaking truthfully, and building trustworthy ministry systems.
Colossians 3:17 says:
“Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.”
Wedding ministry includes words and deeds: conversations, ceremony preparation, legal awareness, vows, prayers, fees, records, follow-up, referrals, and local ministry connections.
