Divorce Recovery (1 Module)

A Christ-Centered Path Through Separation, Divorce, and Life Rebuilding

Course Length: 1 Module
Professors: Rev. Henry Reyenga and Attorney/Pastor Brian DeCook
Presenter: Haley Steiner

Every adult walking through separation, divorce, or post-divorce rebuilding needs truth, grace, stability, wisdom, and hope. The Divorce Recovery Growth Course offers a Christ-centered path for participants who are grieving marital loss, rebuilding daily life, and seeking faithful next steps in a changed season.

This one-module course can be completed in less than 12 hours of coursework, or it can be used as a 12-week growth pathway in a church, Soul Center, chaplaincy, parish, or ministry group setting. The course helps participants name layered loss, recognize grief waves, rebuild identity in Christ, discern responsibility without shame, practice wise boundaries, protect children from adult conflict, reconnect with healthy community, and prepare for future relationship discernment with patience and integrity.

With pastoral warmth and practical clarity, Rev. Henry Reyenga and Attorney/Pastor Brian DeCook guide participants through the spiritual, emotional, relational, and practical realities that often come with divorce. Haley Steiner presents the course in a participant-facing format that is accessible, compassionate, and grounded in biblical hope.

This course is designed for adults who are separated, going through divorce, recently divorced, or still rebuilding years later. It is also helpful for those who want a Christ-centered recovery foundation before dating or remarriage discernment.

For those referred by an officiant, minister, chaplain, pastor, Soul Center leader, parish care leader, or Christian life coach, this course provides a structured learning pathway that can be paired with ministry conversations, prayer by permission, support planning, and appropriate referral.

This course equips participants with:

Biblical grounding to bring grief, anger, confusion, loneliness, and hope honestly before God.

Practical wisdom for rebuilding daily life, setting boundaries, communicating carefully, and seeking the right kind of help.

Christ-centered identity that is larger than marital status, rejection, shame, or social labels.

Recovery tools for support planning, grief waves, responsibility discernment, faithful boundaries, whole-life rebuilding, and a ninety-day Recovery Rule of Life.

Accessible yet substantial, this course strengthens personal faith while providing a practical framework for walking through divorce recovery with dignity, responsibility, community, and hope in Christ.

The course does not provide counseling, legal advice, custody guidance, crisis response, financial advising, or a decision about divorce, reconciliation, dating, or remarriage. It does not pressure participants toward renewed access, restored trust, immediate forgiveness, or disclosure of private details. Instead, it helps participants tell the truth, receive grace, build stability, practice wisdom, and walk in hope.

Final Course Goal

The final goal of the Divorce Recovery Growth Course is not merely that participants understand divorce recovery. The goal is that adults walking through separation, divorce, or post-divorce rebuilding can tell the truth about loss, receive grace, seek the right help, own appropriate responsibility, practice wise boundaries, protect children from adult conflict, rebuild daily life, reconnect with healthy community, and continue toward a faithful future in Christ.

Some participants may reconcile. Others will not. Some may receive apologies. Others may never receive them. Some may build cooperative co-parenting. Others may need structured distance. Some may remarry. Others may remain single.

The course does not control or certify those outcomes.

Instead, it offers biblical truth, practical structure, privacy-respecting reflection, ministry conversation, referral readiness, and hope in Jesus Christ.

The course goal is simple and deeply pastoral:

Tell the truth. Receive grace. Build stability. Practice wisdom. Walk in hope.
