Video 1B: You Are an Organic Human, Not a Broken Machine

In this lesson, we begin with the phrase organic human.

An organic human is a God-created person, made in the image of God, with spiritual and physical life before God.

You are not a broken machine that simply needs a new part.

You are not an avatar trying to perform a spiritual role.

You are not only a brain. You are not only a body. You are not only a wound. You are not only a temptation. You are not only a diagnosis. You are not only a memory. You are not only a failure.

You are one whole person before God.

Your thoughts matter.
Your body matters.
Your emotions matter.
Your memories matter.
Your habits matter.
Your relationships matter.
Your faith matters.
Your words matter.

This is why inner conversation is so important.

Sometimes the words inside us shape the way we see God, ourselves, other people, and the future.

A fearful script may say, “Something bad is going to happen.”

A shame script may say, “I am worthless.”

A temptation script may say, “This will comfort me.”

A bitterness script may say, “I must keep replaying what they did.”

A despair script may say, “Nothing will ever change.”

But Scripture invites a different conversation.

Romans 12:2 says, “Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

Renewing the mind is not pretending. It is not positive thinking without truth. It is not denying grief, abuse, depression, panic, or pain.

Renewing the mind means bringing the real inner conversation before the living God.

You can say:

Lord, this is what I am saying to myself.
Lord, this is what I am feeling in my body.
Lord, this is what fear is predicting.
Lord, this is what shame is naming me.
Lord, what do You say?
Holy Spirit, what are You inviting me to receive, resist, confess, release, or practice?

This week, do not begin with pressure.

Begin with notice.

A renewed inner conversation often starts with one honest sentence before God.
