Video 1C: Are You Called to Christian Life Coaching?

Are you called to Christian life coaching?

Calling does not always begin with a dramatic moment. Sometimes it begins with a growing awareness that God may be inviting you to serve people in a more intentional way.

You may notice that people trust you with their stories. You may feel drawn to listen, encourage, pray, and help others discover responsible next steps. You may have walked through experiences that have given you compassion for people facing similar challenges.

These experiences can be important clues, but they are not the only signs of calling.

A Christian coaching calling also involves formation.

Formation includes growing in your relationship with Christ, becoming more self-aware, learning to listen without making every conversation about yourself, receiving correction, respecting boundaries, and developing the skills needed for responsible ministry.

Formation comes before recognition.

A calling to coaching does not mean you must have every answer. In fact, believing you must solve every problem can interfere with healthy coaching.

Christian coaches learn to ask helpful questions, listen patiently, offer biblical encouragement appropriately, and support the other person’s responsibility before God.

As you explore your calling, consider these questions:

Do people naturally come to me for encouragement or perspective?

Am I willing to listen before offering advice?

Can I respect another person’s responsibility to make decisions?

Am I willing to receive training and accountability?

Can I recognize when someone needs help beyond my preparation?

Do I desire to serve, or am I mainly seeking a title?

You do not have to answer every question perfectly before beginning. Calling develops through prayer, learning, service, reflection, and confirmation from other believers.

You may discover that the Soul Coach pathway fits your present calling to volunteer or part-time encouragement ministry.

You may eventually pursue the Ordained Christian Life Coach pathway for more developed Christian coaching preparation.

You may discern a calling to the Life Coach Minister pathway, which combines coaching with broader ministry leadership, theological preparation, and pastoral presence.

You do not need to decide your whole future today.

Begin by noticing where God is already giving you opportunities to listen and serve. Pray for wisdom. Ask trusted Christian leaders what strengths they see in you. Pay attention to the areas where you need further growth and preparation.

Your practical step is to write a brief calling reflection. Describe why Christian coaching interests you, whom you feel drawn to serve, and what you hope to learn.

You are not declaring that every detail has been settled. You are simply beginning to discern faithfully.

Begin with the pathway that fits your present calling.
