Video 5A: From Soul Coaching to Life Coach Ministry

Christian Soul Centres are places where people can receive prayer, encouragement, biblical guidance, and support as they take faithful next steps. One of the most relational ministries offered through a Soul Centre can be Christian coaching.

Christian coaching begins with a simple conviction: God is already at work in the life of the person sitting before us.

The coach does not arrive as the hero, controller, or expert who makes every decision. The coach listens, asks thoughtful questions, shares appropriate biblical wisdom, prays with permission, and helps the participant recognise what God may be inviting them to do.

Within the Christian Leaders Alliance ecosystem, there are several coaching-related ministry pathways.

The Soul Coach Ordination Credential is an entry pathway for Christians who want to encourage others through prayer, Christian Growth Courses, spiritual conversations, and faithful next steps. A Soul Coach may walk alongside someone completing a course on forgiveness, gratitude, marriage growth, conflict, sleep, spiritual growth, or another area of Christian formation.

Soul Coaches are not expected to solve every problem. They offer encouragement, relational presence, and appropriate referral when a person’s needs exceed their preparation.

The Ordained Christian Life Coach Credential represents a broader coaching ministry. An Ordained Christian Life Coach receives additional preparation in coaching conversations, ministry foundations, theology, ethical practice, and the development of a Christian coaching ministry.

This coach may help people explore calling, relationships, habits, spiritual growth, work, decision-making, or important life transitions. The ministry remains Christ-centred, permission-based, and respectful of the participant’s responsibility before God.

The Life Coach Minister pathway prepares someone for an even broader ministry role. A Life Coach Minister integrates Christian coaching with biblical ministry, prayer, pastoral presence, Christian leadership, and the development of sustainable ministry practices.

These pathways are related, but they are not identical.

A person should not pursue a title merely because it sounds impressive. The appropriate pathway depends upon calling, preparation, ministry setting, experience, local endorsement, and the people the leader expects to serve.

A Soul Centre may begin very simply. Perhaps one leader facilitates a Christian Growth Course and offers prayerful encouragement. Over time, that leader may receive further training, develop stronger coaching skills, and pursue an additional credential.

This is how leaders emerge.

The ministry does not need to become complicated overnight. Begin with the people God has already placed around you. Listen to their stories. Pray for wisdom. Use trustworthy Christian resources. Maintain clear boundaries. Pursue training and accountability appropriate to your role.

Christian life coaching can become a powerful ministry of relational discipleship support. It helps people notice God’s work, accept responsibility for their choices, and move towards faithful action.

In a Christian Soul Centre, coaching is not about controlling another person’s life.

It is about creating a prayerful and trustworthy relationship in which people can reflect, grow, discern, and respond to God.
