Dear Friend—

It is my privilege to welcome you to this part of the studies of the Christian Leaders Institute.  In particular we will be studying how to be an effective vocal witness to God's love shown to us through Jesus.

I want to congratulate you.  Besides already serving our Lord Jesus in the daily occupation you are in, you want to be prepared to serve Him more effectively in spreading the Gospel of Christ.

The parting words of Jesus to his followers were, "And you shall be My witnesses.” (Acts 1:8) Acts 2:32, "God has raised this Jesus to life, and we are all witnesses of this fact.”

Acts 3:15, "You killed the Author of life, but God raised Him from the dead. We are witnesses of this.”

Acts 5:32, "We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 10:39, "We are witnesses of everything He did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem.”

Acts 13:31, "And for many days Jesus was seen by those who traveled with Him.  They are now His witnesses.”

Acts 22:15, "You will be His witnesses to all people of what you have seen and heard.”

Do you think they took Him seriously?

Do we take Him seriously?  Our time in this course will help us be effective vocal witnesses for our Savior.

I'll close with this quote from George Barna. "The most effective evangelists need not have formal theological training, a full-time position in a church or credentials such as ordination. They need

a passion for Christ and a desire to help usher others into the Kingdom of God.”
