LISTENING IS A SKILL

James 1:19, "Everyone must be quick to listen but slow to speak.”  

Proverbs 18:2, "A fool finds no pleasure in understanding but delights in airing his own opinions.”

Proverbs 18:15, "The ears of the wise seek out knowledge.”

Proverbs 18:13, "To answer before listening--that is folly and shame.”

Proverbs 29:20, "Do you see someone who speaks in haste? There is more hope for a fool than for them.”

Are we being given a message here?

 STAY FOCUSED:  on the meaning

            We generally hear the words

STAY FOCUSED: on the other person

            We generally think of ourselves                

STAY FOCUSED: on the target

            We generally get sidetracked
