Foundational Scriptures for Psychology Page 1

As Christ followers, we come to understand how we think and behave based on Scripture. There is no other source we turn to for our foundation for the study of the mind, psyche, etc. than the Bible itself. As discussed in this course, we will look at key figures who have provided theories, study, structure and understanding of the human mind and behavior such as Skinner, Freud, Jung and Rogers, however, all of their theories go back to the Creator of the mind Himself, Christ Jesus the Word. 

In this section we will examine key Scriptures that give a foundation for Psychology as a discipline. Upon examining each, we will exegete and apply the meaning of each Bible passage to Psychological concepts. Again, the thesis here is that all of Psychology as we know it came out of Scripture; no exceptions. The rationale? God created all things including this discipline of understanding the mind and behavior of human beings.
