Session # 7 Respond/React to Anger

Cause:

                        Insecurity            Unmet Needs                 Fear

Anger/Conflict: The emotion engendered by the person’s expectation of unacceptable behavior on the part of others. It is no surprise that we are often disappointed by someone who does not behave in a manner that misaligns with expectations

This three-element diagram provides a way to respond, which is preferred when reaction can be relegated to a secondary option. Practice using all the components being discussed will equip you to react more efficiently when the three-element diagram is coupled with all the remaining components found here in the anger management sessions.  Quick action is sometimes necessary. Response is used more often when adequate time, money, and energy can be expended to engender a long-term behavioral adjustment.  The emphasis is on practice.  Without it, you will not reap the benefit and reward that comes from spaced repetition.  Keep in mind managing emotions is better than trying to control the uncontrollable.
