Biblical Perspective on Fundraising Part 2
Henry Reyenga
The Providence Of It All!
Acts 16:6 Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia.
We Live Out Of Narratives
Philemon 10 I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains.
Money Brings More Challenge
Acts 5:2 With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet.
Your Hard Work Should Be Rewarded
Matthew 25:21 “His master replied, ’Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Do Not Cheapen Your Calling
Stay away from tricks and gimmicks
1 Thessalonian 2:5 You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed—God is our witness.
Know Your Cause and Believe In It
Do You Really Believe in Local Ministry Training?
Why?
Roman 15:20 It has always been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else’s foundation.
Motivate by Opportunities and Vision
The “need” is obvious.
Roman 15:17-19 Therefore I glory in Christ Jesus in my service to God. I will not venture to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in leading the Gentiles to obey God by what I have said and done— by the power of signs and miracles, through the power of the Spirit. So from Jerusalem all the way around to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the gospel of Christ.
Do Not Show Favoritism
If you do, even the very rich will not trust you!
James 2:1 My brothers, as believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don’t show favoritism.
Have Joy In the Effort
Be seen as one filled with joy
Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
