Mission Multiplier Dress Code Suggestions

These suggestions are designed to provide guidelines on the appropriate attire for representatives of Mission Multiplier during any event, meeting, or outreach activity. The aim is to ensure that we present ourselves in a way that is consistent with our values of humility, service, and compassion, as well as to maintain the respect and dignity of the communities we serve.

1. General Guidelines

• All attire should be clean, well-maintained, and free of explicit images or language.
• Clothes should be modest and respectful understanding that the definition of modesty and respect are different by the audience, in keeping with our faith-based environment and the cultural sensitivities of the communities we serve.
• Avoid extreme or flashy attire or accessories that might distract from our purpose or create a barrier between ourselves and those we serve.

2. Fundraising and Large Group Events

• Business Casual Attire: This includes slacks, chinos, dress shirts, blouses, conservative dresses for women, and dress shoes. Men may also consider wearing a blazer or jacket.
• No jeans, t-shirts, or athletic wear.
• No overly revealing clothing. 

3. Small Group Events and Direct Ministry Work

• Casual Attire: This includes jeans, khakis, polo shirts, or modest t-shirts. Conservative dresses or skirts for women are welcomed. Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes suitable for potential physical activities or uneven terrain.
• The attire should be culturally sensitive and respectful of the community you are working with.

4. Special Considerations

• Always take into account the local customs and dress code of the community you are serving, and aim to match their level of formality to show respect and build trust.
• If you are uncertain whether a piece of clothing is appropriate, please consult local Christian leaders.
• On certain occasions or missions, a specific dress code may be prescribed that must be followed.

5. Personal Grooming

• Hair should be clean, neat, and styled in a way that does not obstruct vision or hinder work.
• Facial hair should be well-groomed.
• Perfumes, colognes, or heavily scented lotions should be avoided as some people may have sensitivities or allergies.

As we are called to multiply Christian leaders and difference-makers in every rank and every region of the world. serve the poor, the broken, and the at-risk, we must always consider how our dress code impacts those we serve. Above all, our attire should reflect the love, humility, and respect we have for the people and communities we serve.
