Course Overview
This course equips pastors and church leaders to effectively lead healthy churches that carry out Jesus' Great Commission to spread the life-changing gospel and make disciples.
Course Outcomes
Upon the completion of this course, students will have the knowledge and skills to:
- Delve into the process of discerning and developing a vision
- Understand how a church committed to the Great Commission can impact its community
- Put a vision into motion and inspire others to join in
- Explore communication techniques, privately and publically, and tailor the message to different types of people
- Understand the dynamics of change
- Build cohesive teams that share a vision
- Set objectives and establish accountability, align objectives with an overarching focus
- Manage ministry time, strategically allot time, and be more productive
- Develop healthy and productive relationship with staff and surrounding leaders
Assignments
View all online lectures and read all the articles on each topic. CLI computer tracks whether you do this. After viewing all lectures for the unit, take the quiz based on them (100% of grade). You have 75 minutes for each quiz. Each quiz is created with 20 questions. Our usual formula is 1/3 true and false, 2/3 multiple choice.
Grading Scale
A 95-100% A- 90-94% B+ 87-89% B 83-86% B- 80-82% C+ 77-79% C 73-76% C- 70-72% D+ 67-69% D 63-66% D- 60-62% F 0-59%
Your average for the course must be at least 60%. Otherwise, you will fail the class and will receive no credit.Deadline
You have 180 days to finish the course. Complete all assignments before the final deadline, or you will be automatically unenrolled, and all coursework will be removed. You will have to start over and retake the class to receive credit.
About Rev. Kenneth E. Priddy
Ken is the Founder and Executive Director of The Go Center. He has spent over 25 years as a practitioner and researcher in church revitalization and multiplication.
He has consulted with hundreds of churches and pastors across 15 denominations, taught at seven seminaries, and worked with churches in six countries. His journey began with turning around a church from 13 people to over 350 people in seven years. He and his wife have four adult children and four grandchildren.
He received his DMin (Reformed Theological Seminary) and PhD (Newburgh), one focused on revitalization and the other on multiplication. He is ordained in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He holds certifications in Change Management, Innovation Management, and Corporate Training.
