✍️ Step One: Writing Your Appeal Letter
Your First Step Toward a Send Me Scholarship
One of the most essential steps in the Here I Am Fund – Send Me Scholarship process is crafting your Appeal Letter. This letter is your personal and prayerful request for financial support to complete your degree at Christian Leaders College.
🎯 Why This Appeal Letter Matters
Your Appeal Letter may be shared with:
Kingdom Donors who are seeking to invest in faithful leaders
Your circle of influence (if you choose) to invite those who know you to support your journey
Christian Leaders Institute’s social media or marketing to highlight your testimony
Other students who may be inspired by your story
This is more than a letter—it is your opportunity to share your calling, demonstrate your commitment, and allow others to join you in what God is doing through your life.
Your Appeal Letter becomes the foundation for your “Here I Am” Profile, which we will use to:
Launch a crowdfunding opportunity to raise your scholarship support
Promote your need to potential donors and ministry supporters
Showcase how CLI is training and mobilizing leaders like you around the world
This process is designed to be missional, relational, and Kingdom-centered—connecting your calling to those who are ready to help send you into fruitful ministry.
🧭 What to Include in Your Appeal Letter
Your Appeal Letter should be at least 1,000 words and include:
✝️ Your Testimony and Calling
How did you come to know Jesus Christ? How has He called you into ministry?
📖 Your Ministry Goals
What do you hope to do with your training—such as preaching, church planting, chaplaincy, youth leadership, or counseling?
💸 Why You Need a Scholarship
Be honest about your financial situation and why even the lowest monthly administration fee is not possible for you at this time.
🌍 How You Will Use Your Degree to Serve
Explain how your degree will empower you to reach others, lead ministries, and advance the Gospel.
🛠️ Need Help Writing?
If writing isn’t your strong suit, don’t worry—we’re here to help! We highly recommend you complete the Basic Writing (2 credits) course before submitting your Appeal Letter. This class will guide you step-by-step in writing a well-organized, thoughtful paper. You can even use the writing assignment from that course as the basis for your appeal.
⚠️ Integrity and Representation
Please be completely truthful in your Appeal Letter. Christian Leaders Institute takes integrity seriously. If dishonesty is discovered, any scholarship awarded—and potentially any conferred degree—may be revoked.
Also, we are committed to authentic representation. If your scholarship or profile is promoted using wording you feel doesn’t reflect your heart, please let us know. Our goal is to honor you and what God is doing through your story.
🕊️ A Final Encouragement
This is more than a scholarship request—it’s a holy moment to respond to God’s call. Like Isaiah, you have the chance to say:
“Here I am. Send me.” — Isaiah 6:8
We believe God is raising up leaders like you. Take this step seriously, write from the heart, and trust that the Lord will provide.
Once your letter is ready, submit your completed Appeal Paper in the assignment submission area below

Once we have found a potential sponsor for you, you must enroll in and complete the Leadership Excellence School Admissions class. For the payment section, you will state: "I am a Pool of Bethesda Scholarship Recipient." Upon completion of the admission process, you will follow the steps in the Degree Program Orientation at the end of the Leadership Excellence School Admissions class to become enrolled in the appropriate Degree Program for you. You will have two weeks to claim this scholarship once it is offered to you. If you do not respond to this offer within two weeks and enroll in our admissions course within this time frame, you are forfeiting this scholarship, and it will be given to another student. You must complete our admissions course within the 180-day enrollment. If you do not complete our LES admissions course and are not enrolled in a degree program within this time frame you are forfeiting this scholarship and will need to re-apply.
You will also be moved from Opportunity Scholarship Applicant to the Opportunity Scholarship Recipient Group.
When you have completed all the credits and requirements in that specific Degree Program, we will forward your exit paper to your sponsor for the Degree Program. Make sure to write a thank-you to your sponsor within your Degree Program exit paper.
Please be aware that receiving the Pool of Bethesda scholarship only comes with a free digital download of your degree. If you want a hard copy of your degree you will be responsible for the shipping fee.
