Training Content:

1. Teaching Job Search Skills

Goal: Help guests learn how to search for employment opportunities effectively and efficiently.

• Teach them how to filter jobs based on their qualifications, location, and job type.
• Help them create accounts on these platforms and set up job alerts.

• Encourage guests to connect with family, friends, or community members for job leads.
• Discuss the importance of networking and how many jobs are found through personal connections.

• Identify local job fairs or employment events and encourage guests to attend.

2. Resume Writing

Goal: Help guests craft a resume that highlights their skills, experiences, and qualifications.

• Encourage guests to highlight any transferable skills, volunteer work, or personal achievements that could apply to a job.

• Emphasize the importance of tailoring a resume for each job application by focusing on relevant experience and qualifications.

• Provide guidance on how to access local social services, such as food assistance, housing support, or counseling services.
