🎥 Video 1E Transcript: How This Course Will Help You Build a Spiritual Growth Handbook

Hi, I am Haley, a Christian Leaders Institute presenter.

This course is designed not only to teach you about spiritual growth, but also to help you build a practical spiritual growth handbook for life and ministry.

A handbook is different from a textbook. A textbook teaches information. A handbook becomes a tool you can return to, use, adapt, and share. As you move through this course, each topic will give you biblical foundations, practical reflections, case studies, worksheets, and field tools.

By the end, you should have more than notes. You should have a framework for helping yourself and others understand spiritual growth through the whole story of Scripture.

The course begins with creation. You will learn to see the human person as an embodied soul, created in God’s image, fully spiritual and fully physical.

Then we study the fall. You will learn how Satan’s deception distorted human trust, freedom, desire, work, relationships, and worship. The fall is not only about Adam and Eve long ago. It helps explain the brokenness we still experience now.

Then we study redemption. You will trace the Bible 101 story of God’s promise, Christ’s saving work, new birth, and life in the Spirit.

From there, you will develop practical tools.

You will study the spiritual walk and the Seven Connections: Scripture, prayer, worship, confession and repentance, Christian community, service and obedience, and rest and remembrance.

You will study spiritual fruit, learning how the Spirit forms Christlike character in our relationships.

You will study spiritual discernment, including creational discernment and redemptive discernment through Scripture and the Holy Spirit.

You will study spiritual calling, learning that all of life can become ministry. Business, science, teaching, parenting, church service, Soul Center leadership, volunteer ministry, part-time ministry, and full-time ministry can all become places of faithful service before God.

You will study spiritual gifts and spiritual mission, asking, “What is God calling me to be and do in this world?”

Finally, you will study spiritual destiny: death, heaven, the final resurrection, and the hope of the spiritual body.
