Enroll me Christian leaders are called to serve others, but they also need to take care of themselves. Self-care is not selfish; it is essential for effective ministry. When leaders are thriving and physically and spiritually rested, they are better able to serve others with love, compassion, and joy.
This course will provide Christian leaders with the tools and resources they need to practice self-care and teach self-care to others. We will cover five topics:
Self-Care Ministry -
- The Need for Self-Care Ministry - This section will focus on the opportunities for self-care ministry
- Self-care skills: This section will teach you how to identify your own needs, set boundaries, and make time for relaxation and rejuvenation.
- Time management: This section will help you learn how to manage your time effectively so that you can avoid burnout.
- Goal setting: This section will teach you how to set and achieve goals that are both meaningful and achievable.
- Spiritual disciplines: This section will explore the importance of spiritual disciplines for Christian leaders.
Course Outcomes
The goal of this course is to equip church leaders with the Ministry training, coaching, and learning resources they need to serve and build strong churches and healthy families. When churches are strong, and families are healthy, communities will flourish.
This course will provide you with the tools and resources you need to:
- Identify your own needs and set boundaries.
- Manage your time effectively.
- Set and achieve goals that are both meaningful and achievable.
- Practice spiritual disciplines.
By the end of this course, you will be better equipped to:
- Take care of yourself and teach others to do that.
- Serve or minister to others more physically and spiritually healthy
- Build strong churches and healthy families.
Assignments
View all online lectures and read all the articles on each topic. CLI computer tracks whether you do this. After viewing all lectures for the unit, complete the forum assignments. Responding to other students' posts is also encouraged.
Grading Scale
A 95-100% A- 90-94% B+ 87-89% B 83-86% B- 80-82% C+ 77-79% C 73-76% C- 70-72% D+ 67-69% D 63-66% D- 60-62% F 0-59%
Your average for the course must be at least 60%. Otherwise, you will fail the class and will receive no credit.Deadline
You have 90 days to finish the class. Complete all assignments before the final deadline, or you will be automatically unenrolled, and all classwork will be removed. You will have to start over and retake the class to receive credit.Accessibility
